Brian Pennington embarked on his law enforcement journey
in 2007, starting at the Cortez Police Department before
moving to the Apache Junction Police Department in 2011.
Over the years, he excelled in various roles, from patrol
officer to detective, demonstrating exceptional leadership and
investigative skills.
In addition to his duties as a patrol officer, Brian served on
specialized units such as the Special Response Team and the
Homeless Outreach Team. His commitment to community
service earned him recognition and the Apache Junction
Chamber of Commerce 2022 Police Officer of the Year award.
Brian's investigative skills led to his involvement in the
Community Response Enforcement Unit, where he
collaborated with multiple agencies and developed crucial
skills in drug-related investigations. His leadership within the
unit highlighted his ability to excel in supervisory roles with
minimal oversight. Promoted to corporal in 2017 and later to
patrol sergeant in 2021, Brian's leadership qualities shone through as he took on roles in the
Office of Professional Standards, overseeing state accreditation, internal investigations, and
community service projects. Brian has since taken on the Apache Junction School Resource
Officer (SRO) program, where he oversees eight SROs. Throughout his career, Brian has
demonstrated a commitment to growth, both personally and within his organization, through
continuous learning and mentorship.
