Angel of the Month

On December 13, 2021, Officer Crawford and Officer Nicol responded to an unknown trouble call for service located at (redacted for privacy).  The call was for a child yelling for help.  Upon their arrival, the officers contacted (redacted) and her two children.  In speaking with Ms. X, the officers learned that she had moved to Arizona from X in search of  job opportunities and a better life for her children.  They submitted a request to Angels on Patrol asking for a motel room for the night or assistance with placement into a homeless shelter so that they may be safe from the elements and cold December temperatures.  

After receiving this request, contact was made with Officer Crawford to discuss the request.  Officer Crawford explained that Ms. X had been provided with homeless shelter numbers and resources.  AoP booked a motel room for two nights and a Lyft ride was arranged to the motel.  

Upon following up with Ms. X, Angels on Patrol learned that she and her two children had found placement in a shelter.  She informed us that she was so moved by the officers’ actions and display of selflessness.  She went on to state that she had no idea how she was going to keep her children safe and get on her feet, and without the help she received that night, they would have had to continue living on the streets.  

On July 14,2021, Officer Jewell was concerned for a female standing out in the rain and he stopped to check on her. He discovered she was struggling and in need of a shoulder to cry on and a hand up in life. He contacted AoP and we were able to get her into a motel and out of the rain. Officer Jewell showed true selflessness and compassion to a complete stranger and went above and beyond the duties of his job. Congratulations Officer Jewell for being AoP's  July Angel of the Month!
